Bonfiglioli presented its strategic plan for reinforcing its position on all its markets, based on synergy and the quest for excellence to the press. The basic components of this new development plan are:
- Emphasis on the professionalism of human resources as the real driving force behind change
- New products and strategies for rapidly expanding markets like renewable energy sources
- Research and development
- Internationalisation and lean manufacturing
New markets demand that companies develop the ability to foresee their needs and to adapt accordingly. Production and management processes must therefore become more flexible, costs must be managed and customers have to be served efficiently, not only through sales but by local for local production, too. This requires direct investment in expanding markets and new approach to production and organisation.
With this in mind, over the period 2011 to 2013 the Bonfiglioli Group will be running a project to optimise its activities, aimed at eliminating wastage, targeting investments more accurately, boosting productivity in all plant and optimising logistics in order to reduce delivery times.
The key to success is rationalisation and for this reason Bonfiglioli Riduttori is planning to create 3 centres of production excellence in Calderara di Reno, Vignola and Forlì, all based on lean manufacturing logic.
