Sonia Bonfiglioli opens the second Indian plant in Mannur dedicated to market the industrial and photovoltaic business

In keeping with the corporate concept of separate business units for  industrial and photovoltaic products a new location has been inaugurated in Mannur, about 35 km away from Chennai production plant (the first Bonfiglioli Indian settlement and now a full-fledged mobile and wind business unit).

The Mannur plant spreads over a total area of 10,000 sqm and was opened by the group Chairman and CEO, Sonia Bonfiglioli, on 10th June 2011.

The entire operation of the new industrial business unit is based on a Lean concept with the full infrastructure for warehouse, assembly, quality control and sales services.

Even the booming photovoltaic business will be served by this plant, with a dedicated organization and focused people.

This new plant markets full range of Bonfiglioli industrial and photovoltaic products to all customers in India and the neighbouring countries, having presently a workforce of 130 people and a well-knit marketing set up and distributors spread across India, also providing pre and after sales efficient support.

The Chennai plant - the first overseas manufacturing plant of the Bonfiglioli group - was launched in 1998 by acquiring a 22,300 sqm area. After the civil construction of manufacturing plant and offices, the production started in 2000 with inline helical gearboxes and shaft mounted gearboxes, and sales the full range of Bonfiglioli products in India. Subsequently a sales business unit was built at an additionally acquired land of 4,400 sqm for the marketing of all Bonfiglioli products in the Indian sub-continent and the neighbouring countries.
